Dunbar Heritage Association (DHA) will host a traditional Juneteenth celebration that commemorates the delayed announcement of the emancipation of enslaved persons in Texas. Activities will include games for children and adults, music, and an educational segment.

The celebration starts at the corner of LBJ and Martin Luther King Jr. streets in San Marcos, TX. at 9:30 a.m. If you are presenting a wreath or registered to walk with your group, arrive no later than 8:45 a.m.

The Sip, Paint, & Poetry event will highlight poets from the African diaspora to educate and celebrate Black poetry and the Black aesthetic. The event will feature poetry, live music, painting/adult coloring, and food. This is one of two Black History Month events hosted by DHA.
